Wiley X Adds Ultramarathon Runner Dean Karnazes to Xtreme Athletes

Vision protection innovator Wiley X® Eyewear is proud to announce a new sponsorship agreement with world famous ultra marathon runner, motivation speaker and best-selling author Dean Karnazes. The latest addition to Wiley X’s expanding “Xtreme” Team of sponsored high-performance athletes, Karnazes joins the likes of perennial NASCAR front-runners Denny Hamlin and Carl Edwards, 2009 Bassmaster Classic Champion Skeet Reese and sport shooting legend Patrick Flanigan.

To call Karnazes simply a runner is like calling Wiley X Eyewear just another pair of sunglasses. Many of Karnazes’ running accomplishments defy logic, as well as our normal understanding of human endurance. He recently ran an astonishing 50 marathons (26.2 miles) on 50 consecutive days in all 50 states, ending with the famous New York City Marathon (which he completed in a very competitive three hours and 30 seconds). Then – as if that wasn’t impressive enough – Karnazes ran from New York back to St. Louis (the site of the first marathon in the series), a 1300-mile jaunt. Karnazes thrives on pushing his body, his mind and his gear to the limits, from running a 135-mile ultramarathon across Death Valley, California in 120-degree heat to finishing a marathon race to the South Pole in 40-below-zero temperatures.
