Wow, how can we be at the end of another year already? We’ve made a lot of great optical and vision information available on this blog during 2008, so we thought we’d share what turned out to be the most popular with our visitors and readers. Here’s a summary of the most visited eyewear posts on The Eye Zone, the official blog of FramesDirect.com, during the past twelve months based on visits and comments.
1. What’s My Eyeglass Frame Size? - This has got to be the most asked question we get, so here’s a simple, easy to follow guide to finding out what all those numbers mean and where you can find them on your frames.
2. Spotlight on Ray Ban Sunglasses - THE most commented upon post on The Eye Zone, featuring a full description of the quality and history of Ray Ban Sunglasses, including a link to our Ray Ban video and tons of discussion.
3. Celebrity Sunglasses & Eyewear Sightings - Originally a one-time post about celebrity eyewear, this original is still extremely popular, so much so that we created an entire category about celebrity eyewear sightings, by far our most popular blog section.
4. Round Eyeglasses - What Goes A Round… - The classic shape of round eyeglass frames made popular by the likes of John Lennon and Harry Potter is still extremely popular and produces quite a bit of discussion.
5. DriveWear - Lenses that Transition for Driving - These innovative lenses that darken even inside an automobile for driving get a lot of interest and discussion. Unlike Transitions lenses, which turn clear indoors, Drivewear lenses adjust to different tints in different lighting conditions. See our Drivewear lenses page for an online demo and walk-on information video by our CEO, Dr. Dhavid Cooper.
6. Fitovers - Sunglasses for Your Prescription Eyeglasses - Just consider these sunglasses that slip over your prescription eyeglasses as shades for your glasses. No longer the huge radiation goggle-like sunglasses that you would see folks who just had their pupils dilated wearing. Today’s version is stylish and practical.
7. Eyewear Tips & Tricks - Our opticians have provided some of their top tips for wearers of eyeglasses, sunglasses, contact lenses and goggles in a handy list.
8. James Bond “Quantum of Solace” Sunglasses - What can we say? Every time a new 007 film is released, there’s a rush to get whatever sunglasses the super secret agent is wearing. This year is no exception and the 2008 hit featured the Tom Ford 108 sunglasses.
9. Top Eyewear & Optical Tools - We provide a list of our top online eyewear tools in one handy location that includes links to our glossary, FrameFinder Virtual Eyeglasses Try-On, our Lens Options Guide and more.
10. Optical Glossary - Though technically a page and not a post, this online dictionary of vision related terms was added to the blog during the year and quickly became one of the top attractions on The Eye Zone.
