How to Choose Men’s Eyeglasses Frames for Image
Your face is the most recognizable part of your body, one that people identify you by. For this reason, your men’s eyeglasses need to reflect who you are and what image you want to portray. If you want to appear sophisticated, your glasses need to reflect this. Those who are conservative won’t want to wear flashy eyewear as your choice of glasses helps to determine how you are perceived. Make sure the pair you decide to buy says what you you want it to say. This is especially true if you only own one pair of glasses for use every day.
When choosing a pair of frames for your men’s eyeglasses, you need to first consider your lifestyle and personality. What will you be using your glasses for? Do you participate in sports or will they be used for close-up work? This will be a factor in the glasses you should ultimately decide on. Determine also if you should purchase more than one pair. You don’t wear the same pair of shoes every day, so why would you use the same eyewear. Often, it is best to have different pairs for difference activities and occasions. With each pair, take color, style, size, and material in consideration.
While at work, you most likely need to portray a serious image. This helps colleagues and clients have confidence in your abilities. When choosing men’s eyeglasses to be used at work, consider classic shapes and traditional colors. Plastic frames often tend to have unusual shapes and bright colors. It is best to avoid those for normal working hours. Stainless steel and titanium remain good choices along with three-piece mountings and rimless styles. Choose colors such as brown, gunmetal, silver or black as they are conservative and easy to mix and match with business suits. Tortoise shell frames are also appropriate for the workplace.
If you work in a company that emphasizes creativity and fashion savvy, you have more leeway when it comes to men’s eyeglasses. Here you can wear geometric designs or large plastic frames and fit right in. The same is true of metal frames in creative designs. Many choose to go with over-sized glasses in colors such as purple, green or blue. Multi-colored laminates are also popular as well as animal prints and flower patterns. If you want to really stand out in your job, consider eyeglasses with laser details and/or finishes. Retro and vintage glasses are also pleasing to the eye.
Even if you are retired or no longer have the need to work, you don’t have to go with grandpa glasses. The giant metal frames of the past need to be thrown away for good. Upswept rectangles are a great choice in men’s eyeglasses as they make you look younger. The same is true of colors such as deep browns, burgundy and gunmetal. For those who are younger, such as college students, your options are unlimited. Almost anything goes. Choose bright colors, large frames, color lamination and unusual shapes. Now is the time to determine who you are and your glasses should reflect this.
Dads are often busy. Between work, hobbies and activities for the children, you may be constantly on the go. If this is the case, basic men’s eyeglasses are probably your best choice. This doesn’t have to mean they are dowdy though. Choose ovals or upswept rectangles to keep you looking and feeling young. If you like to show off your fashion sense, choose a pair which sports a designer logo. Interesting colors can dress up the most basic of glasses, so be sure to consider all options here.
Even if you are not a dad, your life is probably still hectic. In most cases, your work glasses are not appropriate for personal time. You want something that is comfortable and can keep up with you no matter what you are doing. Be sure to consider purchasing a second pair for those times when you are away from the office.
Don’t limit yourself to just one style. Your personality is not one-dimensional and your glasses shouldn’t be either. With so many options to choose from, you will most likely want to pick up more than one pair. Men’s eyeglasses are just as important as the clothes you wear so be sure to update your look on a regular basis. Your whole style may change as a result.

Oakley Gascan 3D Glasses!
Whether or not 3D technology could or would “catch on” is moot – it has caught on. In fact, it is hugely popular. It was only a matter of time before the horribly unattractive 3D glasses of the past were replaced by style and functionality. That time has come.
As a leader in the eyewear industry Oakley is a trusted and respected name, both in eyeglasses or sunglasses everyone trusts Oakley and their craftsmen to provide the best products and materials. The Gascan is an example of one of Oakley’s most popular frames, and now the Oakley Gascan Sunglasses are available with (non-sunglass) 3D lenses!!
The Gascan 3D glasses work with only RealD® 3D technology. Whether that be in movie theaters or home entertainment systems, these RealD® 3D glasses are the perfect choice for someone who is ready to fully embrace the trends of the future, in both style and technology. 3D entertainment is not going anywhere, and neither are the stylistic choices made by Oakley.
So what sets these Oakley 3D Gascan’s above the competition? Unlike their cheap movie theatre hand out counterparts, these 3D glasses are the first optically correct 3D eyewear ever made. Ever made?! It’s true, previously, 3D glasses were manufactured for cheap, resuable and expendable pieces of equipment. With such limited use, interest in making the most optically sound version was little to none.
But with a growing trend in entertainment, both outside of the home and within, perfection of the technology was on the horizon. Oakley stepped up to the plate. This Oakley 3D Gascan utilizes HDO-3D™, which virtually eliminates visual distortion.
Designed with the epic three-point fit makes these Gascans fit as well as would be expected from any regular Oakley piece of eyewear. As we all know, Oakley takes great pains in making sure their equipment is comfortable, efficient and durable.
These 3D Gascans will even provide better view of the true color of the film or video game you are enjoying, better than any cheap movie theater disposable could ever hope of. Better light management is also thrown in to boot.
The thing to remember is that only with a RealD® 3D experience will these glasses work for you. Other types of 3D do exist so make sure your TV is a RealD® 3D experience. Widely used in movies theaters, the RealD® 3D is normally what you will find. They have a pretty good website of information if you are unsure as to which type of 3D you are using, but it is most likely RealD®. RealD® 3D experience is using polarized glasses NOT anagylph.
Just remember, the next time you go to the movies, grab a pair of individually wrapped 3D glasses and wonder what it would be like with your own Oakley Gascan 3D glasses . . . it would be way better.

Women’s Eyeglasses – A Basic Overview
Eyeglasses have been around for centuries, but are making a comeback with many. Even those who wear contacts or have undergone vision correction surgery may find a pair of prescription women’s eyeglasses they just must have. Designers are continuously coming up with new styles that make glasses a fashion accessory rather than a vision correction device. If you find that you want or need to wear glasses, there are many types to choose from. Choosing eyeglasses that are right for you can be difficult as there are so many types available. Here is what you should consider when choosing your next pair to purchase.

When selecting prescription eyeglasses frames for women, factors to consider include style, frame material/shape, lens type, coatings and face shape.
The construction of the frame should also be considered. Some are snapped together while others have screws and other attachments. If you like to vary your look, the second option is better as you can “mix and match” temples while keeping the same lenses. Many frames are now made of a flexible material which is helpful if you tend to break glasses. The same is true of frames made with spring hinges. Anyone who has children knows how little ones are fascinated by glasses. These advancements make it less likely that their curiosity will cost a great deal of money. Other advances include silicone nose pads and the like.
As women’s eyeglasses increase in popularity, many choose to have a different set for each day of the week or each outfit. Some choose composite materials, enhancements, designer emblems or multi-colored inlays. Others prefer rimless styles as they are less noticeable. This type of frame consists of nothing more than metal or plastic temples directly attached to lenses. As styles and trends change, manufacturers are constantly coming up with new innovations. Bamboo and wood styles are becoming more common. Choose from such great designs as cat-eye shapes or cutouts with geometric designs and patterns.
Women’s eyeglasses are also seeing many advances in lenses. Coke bottle lenses are a thing of the past, even for those with a strong prescription. Thinner, lighter lenses are possible thanks to high-index materials. This plastic refracts light and enable you to focus better without the need for thick lenses. Light travels through the eye and affects vision. Wavefront technology lenses are manufactured using precise measurements of your eye and the way light travels through it. Visual clarity is sharpened as a result. Aspheric lenses correct small distortions in vision and yet are smaller and thinner than those of the past.
Other choices in lenses for women’s eyeglasses include photochromic lenses, polycarbonate lenses and polarized lenses. Photochromic lenses are coated with a chemical or are made to allow for internal changes. This allows them to darken when exposed to bright light and return to normal when the light dims. Polycarbonate lenses are very lightweight and thin and are perfect for safety glasses, active adults and sports eye wear. This is due to the fact that they are ten times more impact resistant than standard lenses. Polarized lenses reduce the glare produced by water or other flat, reflective surfaces. Eye fatigue is reduced as a result. Coatings are also available including anti-fog and UV blocking as well as scratch resistant and anti-reflective treatments.
When choosing a new pair of eyeglasses, many things need to be taken into consideration. Lifestyle and personal taste are just two that many consider important. Face shape and coloring are key as they can determine if your glasses are flattering or detract from your overall appearance. Your prescription is also significant. Certain frames won’t work with specific types of lenses. Your optician can help you determine this. Be sure that you try a number of pairs until you find one that you love and can’t live without. You may even want to pick up two or three.

Choosing the Perfect Men’s Prescription Eyeglasses
When you ask a male what he looks for in men’s prescription eyeglasses, you may expect him to answer, “style.” Actually, men look to other things when buying new glasses for vision correction. The top three requirements appear to be that they are comfortable, durable, and fit properly. Style is important also, but it falls in fourth behind the above factors. Fit and comfort are more important than looking good in a man’s eyes. Often it will be a female figure in the male’s life who chooses the frame color or style once other requirements have been met. 3D Glasses 2.0
Marchon 3D Video
With the advent of 3D film popularity, 3D eyewear companies are on the race to keep up with the technology and improve upon it. Those disposable glasses you get at the movie theater might soon be a thing of the past, as the eyewear business in general is looking to build 3D glasses that have more advanced technology, and therefore are more expensive and not so easily disposable.
So here’s the skinny on today’s 3D technology: The technology used in most 3D films today is passive circular polarization. These films require special 3D cameras to produce the 3D effect, and they require the disposable glasses you receive at the theater. These glasses also require a special silver screen to be projected upon.
The problem with these glasses is that outside of the theater they have no purpose. They distort vision too much on their own, and cannot be used for everyday life. Also, the 3D TVs that are being produced today require their own individual brand of active glasses, so the movie theater disposables won’t work at home either. However, many eyewear companies, like Marchon and Oakley are attempting to create fashionable 3D sunglasses that can be used in the theater and outside in the “real 3D” world.
Marchon is currently teaming up with Nike, Calvin Klein, and Nautica to develop fashionable, everyday 3D glasses. Their reasoning behind this is that 3D technology is on an extreme popularity spike, and soon everything from cable television to billboard ads will be in 3D.
“It’s not so much that 3D is an eye-popping experience, it’s that it enhances the entire process of viewing anything. There’s more impact and viewers are much more personally involved,” says David Johnson, president of Marchon3D.
Marchon’s 3D technology sunglasses have been in the works for over two years, and are scheduled to be released this month.
Gucci is also releasing 3D sunglasses this month for a whopping $225, but apparently these will be good for theater use only.
Ralph Lauren jumped the shark with the 3D movement in November when they hosted a 4D event at a few of their flagship locations. According to RL, the 4th dimension is “scent.”
RealD has announced that they are releasing a Universal Active 3D technology that will empower 3D glasses to work on multiple types of 3D TVs.
XPAND has also done the same with their product called YOUNIVERSAL HD 3D that will be released to the public in April.
More 3D technological updates are coming throughout the year. Stay tuned to this blog for more new on 3D eyewear.
