Sarah Palin’s Eyeglasses
Posted by The Eyeglasses Guy on September 11, 2008 · 19 Comments
We’re getting some questions about what those rimless eyeglasses Sarah Palin has been seen wearing on the campaign trail.
Sarah Palin’s glasses are the Kazuo Kawasaki 704 Duo eyeglasses frame in grey, shape: SP (custom-made for Sarah Palin, but we can get that exact shape) in metal (The 705 model is the exact same as the 704, except that it is plastic version of the 704, which is metal).

As for the wrap-around glasses she has been wearing, if your referring to the ones with a big star on the temple, Bono wore them first and I believe they are Emporio Armani and part of the “Red” collection.
I saw Sara Palin on TV tonight (4-14-09) and she was wearing some “wrap around” sunglasses that were OH SO CLASSY. Does anyone know who makes these sun glasses and what “model” they are?
Thank you so much.
You can find the price on the product page. In the case of the Clariti Konishi KS 88, click on the linked text for “Clariti Konishi KS 88″ above or go to http://www.framesdirect.com/fr.....ise/r.html .
How much do your frames cost?
The lens shape that was made special for Sarah Palin, now has a pattern made, called the SP pattern. We do have this pattern in stock in our lab, which will enable us to cut your lens to that exact shape. You can order the Clariti Konishi KS 88 with the SP shape.
How does the shape of the Clariti campare to the SP (special) shape done for Sara Palin in the Kazuo?
We stand behind the Clariti Konishi KS 88 glasses to be a better fit than the Kazuo Kawasaki. The KS 88 can be will work fine for you and we have it in stock in the Gunmetal color only.
Can the Sarah Palin glasses be ordered with 1.50 and for reading and plain glass on the top? I have 20/20 vision for distance but need for reading the 1.50. Thanks
The Clariti Konishi KS 88 frames in Gunmetal are online with a photo image available. Just click on the link.
I am interested in purchasing the Clariti Konishi KS eyeglasses. However, I would like to see a picture of them first. Can you send me a picture? I would also like to know how much you are asking for them. Also, do you think that they will be big enough to accommodate a bi-focal lens?
Thank you
At this time, we are recommending a different brand, the Clariti Konishi KS 88 eyeglasses, color gunmetal, instead of the Kawasaki. The frames are very similar. We have pulled the Kawasaki frames off of our web site because we recommend the Konishi frame instead. And we have the Konishi frame in stock at the office – ready to ship! Please feel free to give us a call, 800-248-9427 x225 (Joanna) or provide us information to contact you and we will be happy to help you
I am told that if you select a small eye size and use the 1.67 or 1.74 high index lenses it can be done and not look bad.
I have a strong prescription: -7.5
Can I wear frameless lenses?
The SP comes in a 51 pattern size; however, since it is a drill mount we can customize the lenses to whatever size the customer desires. You can look on the inside of a current pair of eyeglasses to determine the proper size and or call us with that information and we can help them over the phone. You should be able to take them to any optical that provides customer service and have them adjusted.
If I send in my lens prescription and order the Sarah Palin frames, how do I know the size of the lens etc. Is the SP lens only one size? If they need adjustments, do I need to take them to a local optician?
The media is reporting that Sarah Palin purposely did not want AR Coating (Anti-reflective coating). She has taken a bit of heat for this decision, especially because she now has all lights on her, which are reflecting! Many still think that she should have added AR coating.
I have glasses that are frameless and there is a glare. I have been told there is no way glasses can be glareless; however, Sara Palin’s glasses have no glare. Can you explain this to me?
Thank you.
Sheri
Yes, the lens shape was custom-made to her liking. Since it has become so popular, the manufacturer has decided to now sell the Sarah Palin shape, labeled SP.
When you say custom made, what do you mean? Are you referring to the lens shaping or what?
Thanks!
