Oakley Sunglasses introduce Nanowire, a rimless sunwear line with polarized lenses. Included are three Rxable styles, Nanowire 1.0, Nanowire 2.0 and Nanowire 3.0.
Frames are made of a memory metal titanium alloy. All styles are equipped with Plutonite lenses that filter out UV rays, Oakley’s High Definition Optics (HDO) for superior clarity and 99 percent polarization efficiency (specifically formulated polymers are infused into the lens, resulting in bonding on the molecular level so polarization can’t be worn off).
A permanent hydrophobic lens coating repels water, skin oils and dust. An Iridium lens coating balances light and an AR back coating optimizes vision. Polaric Ellipsoid geometry opens peripheral view while XYZ Optics maximizes clarity at all angles. To satisfy performance-specific requirements, 18 tint options are available.
The materials and geometry used in Oakley frames and lenses pass all ANSI.Z87.1 (American National Standard Institute) requirements for high-mass and high-velocity impact testing.
