Oakley Hits the Waves

Following on the success of its “Learn to Ride” snowboard program at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Oakley did it again – this time teaming up with celebrities for a weekend of professional surfing lessons at Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara, Calif. The Oakley “Learn to Ride” surf program featured lessons from world-famous athletes such as Layne Beachley, Tommy Whitaker, Karina Petroni and Sage Erickson. Adrian Grenier, Ashley Greene, Mario Lopez, Benji Madden, Joel Madden, Lo Bosworth and Eric Mabius were among the celebrity students, who participated in pre-surf yoga sessions to warm up, then hit Faria Beach for perfect beginners’ waves. Other event highlights included welcome and post-surf dinners at El Capitan Ranch, both featuring a musical performance by Kelley James and music by DJs Benji and Joel Madden.
