I have been told locally by every retailer that I can’t have rimless frames with a cylindridal of +3.25. Surely somewhere I can get rimless with this prescription. Do you have an option for this? PLEASE EMAIL ME YOU DO. Thanks!!!

Silhouette is a very good frame manufacturer and stands behind their products. You can contact Silhouette direct at http://www.silhouette.com . Yes that is typically the price range for the titanium temples through a retail optical shop. FramesDirect.com could sell you the entire frame (if in stock) for close to the price of the just the parts.

I have a Silhouette 7500 model color 50 6057 for the past 2 years and love them – I take them out of the hard case and the left arm stem breaks at the curve that leaves the lens on the stem. No warning – I take them to my eye clinic and they tell me it will be $200.00 repair. Is this anywhere in the ball park? What options do I have? I bought a pair of magnifiers till I can find out. Any help would be appreciated.

I live in a one horse town, 100 miles from the nearest large city. I want a pair of women’s, squareish frames, similar to Sarah Palin’s. However, I don’t want a dark nose piece or ear stems. If any color at all, I’d want a light golden silver color or flesh colored. I would also prefer them to be of light weight plastic. Scratch resistant and the type of lens that turns darker in the sun are what I am considering…though not absolute requirement. Do you have such a frames?

Yes, we carry many rimless frame designers, and a no-line progressive lens will accommodate these frames. For instance, M+ Rimless eyeglasses or Silhouette Rimless eyeglasses will work great with no-line progressive lenses. The term progressive pertains to no line multifocal lenses. We carry a huge amount of rimless frames that will accommodate these types of lenses. The only restriction is that the B (vertical) measurement needs to be at least 25mms.

For the life of me, I cannot get the nose thingys to fit right. I have an Asian (no bridge) nose and have the piece installed. I just can’t get it to sit on my nose. It is painful and it is frustrating.

Unfortunately, this is a bit complicated. In our opinion, you should really take your lenses into a local optical and see what they can do for you. We would love to help you, but we could run into a few problems along the way, such as your existing lenses might have to be cut down and they could get damaged during mounting. Bevel can also be a problem. We normally only attempt this with our showroom customers whose lenses we have made ourselves. Can these frames fit on already existing lenses. I have some wonderful Zeiss featherweight, progressive lenses (teflon coated)that were made for Robert Marc plastic frames that are extremely uncomfortable due to their weight. These lenses are very expensive and I am thinking that perhaps they can be used in rimless glasses?

Please help, I don’t want to waste these beautiful lenses, but I can not wear these plastic frames.

Yes, we have round, frameless, no-line bifocals. You can pretty much choose from any manufacturer that makes a round shaped frame.

Here are a few possibilities for you:

Alternately do you have round frames ?
